This section of the Women's Health web site can help you learn about the most common health risks and concerns of minority women. Although minority women have many of the same health problems as non-minority women, they have poorer health and use fewer health resources. The Iowa Department of Public Health has the Office of Minority and Multicultural Health to address minority population issues. In cooperation with other department bureaus, the Office of Minority and Multicultural Health develops cooperative and collaborative data collection, networking and resource sharing. The Office of Minority and Multicultural Health activities focus on the department and outreach to communities. Technical assistance is provided in outreach, content area, awareness, resources and program development. |
