Definitions Sexual Assault: Sexual assault can be any type of sexual activity that you do not agree to, including inappropriate touching, vaginal penetration, sexual intercourse, rape, attempted rape, and child molestation. Sexual assault and abuse can also be verbal, visual, or any other form which forces a person to particpate in unwanted sexual contact or attention like voyeurism, exhibitionism, incest, forced prostitution or exposure to pornography, and sexual harassment. It can happen in different situations, by a stranger in an isolated place, on a date, or during intimate partner or domestic violence. Dating Violence: Dating violence is a pattern of assaultive and/or coercive behaviors, including physical, sexual, and psychological attacks, as well as economic coercion, that adults or adolescents use against their intimate partner. Elder Abuse: Elder abuse is any act, failure to act, or incitement to act done willfully, knowingly, or recklessly through words or physical action which causes or could cause mental or physical injury or death. This includes verbal, sexual, mental/psychological, or physical elder abuse, including corporal pnishment, involuntary seclusion, or any other actions within this definition. |
