Several women

This section of the Women's Health web site can help you learn about the most common health risks and concerns of minority women. Although minority women have many of the same health problems as non-minority women, they have poorer health and use fewer health resources.

The Iowa Department of Public Health has a liaison to address minority population issues. In cooperation with other department bureaus, the liaison develops cooperative and collaborative data collection, networking and resource sharing. The liaison's activities focus on the department and outreach to communities. Technical assistance is provided in outreach, content area, awareness, resources and program development.
