Ages
11-14 Children go through a lot of physical changes during these years. Bodies grow in height and weight, and puberty starts which brings on wide moods swings, and worries about being “normal.” Children at this age receive a lot of influence and pressure from their peers. This can present your child with many challenges. During these awkward and confusing years, adults can help by offering support and understanding. Let your child know that everyone develops at a different pace. They may want to talk about loneliness, goals, sexual identity and their personal values. |
